Or almost magically. It is all a chemical process involving capillary forces, evaporation, crystallization and solidification. Capillary forces are the forces that act when plants and trees draw water and nutrients from the soil. In the same way, this cardboard tree attracts the liquid that comes with it. During this process, the water in the mixture condenses and tiny crystals form. This results in a beautiful cardboard tree. Around 12 hours after you put it in water, the tree will have grown. You can stare at this for a long time, both when it forms crystals and afterwards, where it is in full bloom.
